– founded in 1804 by Mennonites exiting Prussia
– 1835 population of 326 and 33 establishments
– 1848: 46 establishments
– 1857 population of 412 living in 70 houses
– 1857 school size: 54 students
– 1889: hospital established
– 1908 population: 681
– 1908 had nine businesses: steam driven mill, windmill, motor driven mill, grocery store, cheese producer, wagon building operation, cloth dyeing, starch factory
– 1920s: various Mennonites emigrated to Canada
– 1943: remaining Mennonite population joined “Great Trek” westward to Poland and Germany
– 2025: former Muntau shows in Google Maps as part of the small city of Molochansk
